Light up Christmas

WANT something different to do, that's a lot of fun?

How about loading the family into the car, getting your copy of the Christmas lights map on pages 16 and 17 of today's paper and checking out the creative and talented people of our region.

The map shows the 16 homes entered in the Sunshine Mitre 10 Christmas Lights competition.

People from Gympie and Southside out to Jones Hill and Dagun have entered, as well as residents at Victory Heights and Cedar Pocket down to Traveston.

The best decorated home will win a $500 Sunshine Mitre 10 voucher, while best new entrant takes home a $300 voucher.

The people's choice winner walks away with a $200 voucher.

To ensure your favourite home is in the running, entries must be in by noon, December 16.

"We had a lot of new people enter the competition this year," The Gympie Times newspaper sales manager Adam Nyburg said.

"We're not sure when the judging for best decorated and best new entrant will take place - that will depend on the weather."
