The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew to the town of Condamine on the western downs at 9.23am.

A man in his mid forties sustained suspected head injuries after he was kicked in the head by a bull.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed in Condamine to meet Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics who were first to treat and transport the injured man.

A QAS officer said paramedics from the Miles station met the man on the side of the Leichhardt Highway just south of Condamine around 8.50am.

"He was conscious and alert,” the officer said.

"He had a deep laceration on his head but no obvious sign of an internal head injury... and was flown to Toowoomba as a precaution.”

The patient was loaded on the helicopter and flown to Toowoomba hospital in a stable condition for further medical treatment.
