Library puts romance on the menu
IT'S that time of year again, when the library service becomes the focus of mystery and romance.
February 14 is now much more than just Valentine's Day - it's Library Lovers Day and it's being celebrated right across the nation.
Go on a "Dinner Date with a Book" by borrowing a gift-wrapped novel and cookbook package from the lucky dip on the library display shelves.
What a great way to experience a novel that you might not normally choose for yourself and to enjoy an exotic dinner that you might not normally prepare for yourself, your family or your friends.
Inside the wrapping of each dinner-date package, you will find a Library Lovers review form to complete and return to the Gympie Libraries.
All entries will then go into a draw for the chance to win a special Library Lovers gift, as well as the opportunity to appear in the libraries' popular Great Reads publication.
To add to the spirit of the day, the library's very own maitre d', (aka Rae Webb), long-time Friend of the Gympie Regional Libraries, will be on duty, promoting dinner-date books and distributing heart-shaped chocolates to borrowers.
There is always something to enjoy or celebrate at your library.
