Laura Geitz to receive captain's necklace

LAURA Geitz's captaincy of the Australian Diamonds will be made complete this afternoon when former captain Natalie von Bertouch hands over the captain's necklace.

Geitz, who is from Allora, will lead the Diamonds on home soil for the first time when the Aussies go head to head with the New Zealand Silver Ferns tomorrow night.

This afternoon's handing over ceremony, which will take place at the Adelaide Convention Centre, will be the fourth time the tradition, which was established by fellow defender Liz Ellis in 2007, has occurred.
