Kick off in top gear

WITH the NRL and AFL footy seasons about to begin, supporter merchandise is selling fast at major sports stores.

Rebel Sport floor manager Robert Dunne said his store at Maroochydore was extremely busy in the lead-up to the 2012 footy season.

Stocking a huge range of fan gear across all codes, football fanatics can find everything from their favourite team's jerseys, caps, balls and beach towels to lunch and cooler bags and plush toys.

Mr Dunne said while Rebel Sport stocked fan gear for a huge range of teams, merchandise for NRL teams the Broncos and Gold Coast Titans and AFL team the Brisbane Lions were top sellers.

And for those who are serious about playing football, Mr Dunne said there were plenty of great offers on quality footy gear from boots and socks to protective gear and training apparel.

The following are some of the must-have fan gear on sale at Rebel Sport stores and online at rebelsport.com.au.

Sporting Team memberships

Buying a membership is the ultimate way to show your support for the game and pledge your loyalty to a particular club.

Both AFL and NRL clubs offer a range of different membership packages. While costs and member privileges vary depending on the club and level of membership, some of the most common benefits include exclusive deals on tickets to see live games, reserved seating and merchandise.
