Juniors in Hook In2 Hockey Program

THE future stars of Gympie Hockey are being put through their paces with the Hook In2 Hockey Program, run by junior development officer Ian Austin.

Gympie Hockey publicity officer Desli Adams said the club was excited about the popularity of the program as the season found its feet.

“Good numbers registered for this year’s program,” she said.

“Ian has his hands full each Saturday morning putting these new hockey juniors through their drills.”

The program equips its participants with skills before moving up to Under 9 hockey, played on modified fields.

“It is very enjoyable to watch these little ones put their new found skills and knowledge into practice and enjoy short modified games,” Adams said.

The program is for children aged between four and seven each Saturday morning between 9am-10am. Cost is $50, including tuition and equipment.
