Jones drinking at last-chance Masters saloon
AUSSIE Matt Jones, ranked 62 in the world after last week's third place behind Matt Every in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, has two weeks to earn a second visit to Augusta to play in the Masters.
The 34-year-old from Sydney earned the final spot in the Masters field last year after winning the Houston Open, his first victory on the PGA Tour, but was left to watch on the weekend after shooting a total of eight-over par in his first two rounds.
With the top 50 players earning automatic starts, Jones (pictured) will need a win in either his week's Texas Open, or the Houston Open next week, to guarantee his place. He will play alongside fellow Australian Geoff Ogilvy and American DA Points in the Texas Open, which starts tonight in San Antonio.
Another Aussie, defending champion Steven Bowditch, is also in the field and is another player who needs a win to get a second chance to play at Augusta.
