Jo-Ann Miller quits politics

PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk said the LNP shouldn't "throw stones" in response to questions about Bundamba MP Jo-Ann Miller's resignation.

Speaker Curtis Pitt ruled out Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington's first question to be out of order.

Ms Frecklington followed up with a second question, asking the Premier why she failed to support Jo-Anne Miller as she shun a light on corruption in Ipswich, which Ms Palaszczuk failed to answer.

"I thank the member for the questions," Ms Palaszczuk said.

"I would like to thank Ms Miller for her long-standing service to this parliament for twenty years."

The Premier went on to thank Member for Currumbin Jann Stuckey who has also resigned.

"Let me say in this house, I wish both the member for Bundamba and the member for Currumbin all the very best for their future."

Ms Palaszczuk said she wished Mrs Miller "all the very best".

"Community service takes its toll on families and personally on individuals," she said.

"I think everyone in this house should reflect… very seriously on how each and everyone of you conducts yourselves.

"Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

The rogue Bundamba MP made the call in parliament this morning.

"There has been much speculation and comment in the media recently in regards to my position and my future," she said.

"I must respond.
"I intend to resign as the Member for Bundamba. My reasons are contained in a letter of resignation."

The first person Mrs Miller hugged after handing the letter to Speaker Curtis Pitt was Opposition Leader Deb Frecklington.
