Hair we go for our scout leaders

THE leaders of Centenary Gympie Scout Troop will be feeling the cold a bit more this winter, minus some of their hair after the troop meeting on Monday night.

Scout leader Robert Pitt challenged the youth at a recent camp that he would shave his beard off if they did well at the Scout Section Skills (Triple S) camp held in Brisbane.

The patrol attending SSS did the troop proud and Robert conceded they had earned the right to shave his beard off.

Monday night at the local scout den saw all three leaders under the electric shaver – at the hands of the youth.

Assistant Scout leaders Jack Burke and David Gosden both had their heads shaved for the cause.

Centenary Gympie Scout Group is a family oriented group, always welcoming new members and families.

Scouting is a wonderful organisation for all ages. Scouts begin at six years of age right up to 18 years.

For further information contact group leader Kathy Pitt on 5483 9004.
