Shooters out in the cold

Cold deters shooters

A COLD and windy night kept some Gympie Smallbore Rifle & Silhouette Club members at home on Friday.

Club spokesman Bill Lintott said only 22 shooters turned up at the range.

The weather did not deter Hayden and Suzy Stey who both scored 40.

They were joined by Curly Lewis and Kevin Bowring on the same score.

Aaron Marsden, Tod Fleming and Matt Murillo followed with 39, Mark Brown and Jimmy Wardell collected 38, and Fay Bowring to take the only 37.

Cameron Cotter and Savanna Stey made 36, leaving Peter Purcell and Jai Barnes to take the 35 spots.

Some club juniors are at a training camp at the Belmont Range in Brisbane this week.

Lintott said the young shooters should find it interesting and gain valuable skills.

The range will be open for the regular Friday night Silhouette Shoot tomorrow and the club is inviting people to come along and give it a try.

All equipment and is available, visitors can use the club licence, and coaching is offered.
