'Husband for sale' for $35
IT SEEMS $35 is far too cheap for a husband considering the overwhelming response one woman received when she advertised his services.
Trish Wilson put up a post in a Facebook group to advertise her husband Ken's tradie services, with the eye-catching heading "husband for sale - $35".
"He has cert 4 in carpentry and building, great handy man, can fix just about anything, expert on automatic gates, country man," the ad read.
Someone even called it the 'advertisement of the year'.
She said the couple needed work after they spontaneously decided to move from Sydney's Northern Beaches to Mackay in May this year.
Mrs Wilson said they'd tried all the traditional ways to find work. She found her salesperson's job on Gumtree but Mr Wilson was having difficulty.
"I posted that ad back in May and then put it back on (Facebook) on Sunday as he was running out of work," she said.
"This time it's gone ballistic.
"He's not been one day without work since the ad."
The cheeky post has received about 250 likes and more than 40 comments since October 2.
"I think he's sell-able," Mrs Wilson said.
"I think everyone should have one of him because he's good at everything."
Once the post went live the job requests started to flow in from all over. Mrs Wilson even received two phone calls yesterday about more work for her husband.
Maxine Norris Johnson asked if he could he patch a hole in a plaster wall.
Jacki Darnell said she had an automatic gate that was not working and was "just wondering when your hubby might be able to have a look at it for me?".
The move north to Queensland had been agreeing with them, Mrs Wilson said, and they were enjoying their lifestyle in Bucasia surrounded by "lovely neighbours".
