Hospital workers to strike
GYMPIE Hospital workers will strike from midnight tonight to show the government they’ve “had enough”.
Queensland Public Sector Union Gympie organiser Ron Fossen said local union members would take part in a 24-hour strike from midnight and will not turn up for work in that time.
He said there would be a skeleton staff on hand to man the pathology department for emergencies.
“They’ve had enough,” Mr Fossen said of an unsatisfactory pay offer from the state government.
