Hockey sign-on will be fun for all

GYMPIE and District Hockey Association will unite with hockey associations around Queensland this month to implement an exciting new sign-on campaign, set to bolster the profile of the sport across the state.

The campaign, called Get into Hockey, will feature several initiatives designed to enhance parents' and children's understanding of the opportunities that stem from playing hockey and the fun of team sport.

Sign-on events will be revamped with a fun focus and will feature have-a-go activities, sausage sizzles, a jumping castle and music.

Gympie Hockey sign-on will be on February 15 from 5pm to 7pm and February 16 from 10am to 2pm at the club house on Power Rd.

All new and returning players are encouraged to attend the event, along with friends and family.

Hockey Queensland CEO Kim Guerin said Gympie was strong hockey centre. She was excited about the membership-boosting campaign and hopes with time there would be an even greater number of Gympie players progressing up the state hockey ranks.
