Help put our Rattler on track
GYMPIE Regional Council has shown a lot of courage to oversee operations of the Mary Valley Heritage Railway.
It's a fair risk for the council. Despite everyone's best intentions and $2 million from the State Government things could head south, leaving the council and possibly ratepayers to pick up the pieces. But to me it's a risk worth taking.
The Mary Valley Heritage Railway is one thing we, as Gympieites, can be proud of.
The Rattler, along with the Muster, is a Gympie "icon" we can all be proud of.
They put us on the map and give Gympie positive media coverage all over the country.
The problem for the Rattler is it needs to be sustainable to continue into the future.
To do that it needs a lot of support from volunteers, sponsors and customers.
