IN HONOUR of Australia Day, this week's entertainment wrap-up focusses on a popular Australian music festival, gripping Australian reality TV and celebrities making big money in America, but who still love coming home.

Big Day Out performances were blazing hot - literally

The heatwave didn't stop more than 55,000 music revellers from enjoying the hottest Big Day Out ever last week.

The music festival marks the last in a 19-year history of the Big Day Out at Gold Coast Parklands.

A new venue for the festival has yet to be announced, but it will still be held at the Gold Coast.

American band The Killers literally lit up the stage during their performance with fireworks and lightning bolt confetti cannons.

Other US bands the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Vampire Weekend gave impressive performances, and Australian favourites like Grinspoon also rocked out hard.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers experienced some sound issues, but still delivered an energetic show.

Dubstep legend Skrillex accidentally set his hair on fire as he blew out candles on his birthday cake on stage.

He must have wanted to give a scorching performance to match the hot weather.

MasterChef: The Professionals on fire with ratings, but My Kitchen Rules hot on their tail

MasterChef: The Professionals went full steam ahead in its debut this week, with over one million viewers tuning in three nights in a row.

Viewers indulged in Channel Ten's reality TV cooking competition, which is co-hosted by food critic Matt Preston and British celebrity chef Marco Pierre White.

The Masterchef spinoff sees cooking professionals battle it out for a career-changing top prize.

'Chef to the stars' Anthony Bantoft already made a dramatic exit and he was only the second to be eliminated.

But that's not the only cooking show mixing drama and food into TV entertainment.

Channel Seven will serve up rival My Kitchen Rules on Monday and will feature a Hervey Bay couple.

A little advice for the contestants: if you can't take the heat, your kitchen's on fire!

Keith Urban goes back to his roots on Australia Day

Country superstar Keith Urban stopped by his hometown of Caboolture this week before kicking off his Australian and world tour in Brisbane today.

He said he's looking forward to spending time with his family this Australia Day.

Keith is taking a much-needed break from his judging duties on American Idol, and from his feuding co-judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj.

Keith was a hit on last year's Australian version of The Voice, so let's hope American audiences love him as much as Australians do.
