Heat head out to tackle Wallaroos

Cooloola Heat hockey coach Ben Fitzpatrick is hoping for a positive start to the Maryborough hockey season after just missing a spot in the Wide Bay Premier League finals.

The Heat take on Wallaroos in Maryborough today in what should be a close tussle between the teams.

The Heat lost to the Maryborough team in their last match, but Fitzpatrick is hoping for the Heat’s forward line to click today.

“The team has been playing really well, we just don’t seem to be able to finish,” Fitzpatrick said.

The coach had the Heat working on ball control in front of the goal box on Tuesday night and is confident the boys will step up today and start scoring some goals.

“We keep improving on the field, we just need to show that on the scoreline,” Fitzpatrick said.

The Heat will have Scott Reedman in the team and his speed should strengthen the team.
