Hearing for Gilmore bash accused

THE man charged with attacking world surfing champ Stephanie Gilmore will face a committal hearing.

Julius Sterling Guy Fox, 27, was charged over an attack on Ms Gilmore outside her Tweed Heads unit in December 2010 that left the surfer with a fractured wrist and a head wound.

She was off the water for about six weeks after the attack.

Fox was charged with wounding and intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He did not appear at Lismore Local Court yesterday.
