Hazard reduction burns slated for Cooloola Cove
QUEENSLAND Fire and Rescue will be carrying out hazard reduction burns in the Cooloola Cove area in the upcoming weeks.
The first burn is planned for Tuesday, August 12, and further burns will be carried out as weather permits.
The burn will provide a strategic fuel reduction zone in the area and will assist in preventing wildfire.
Those properties that will be directly affected have been notified; but smoke from the burn may impact on the greater Cooloola Cove area.
People with asthma or who are susceptible to respiratory problems are advised to keep clear of the area or stay indoors.
If you would like more information on where and when these burns will be carried out, contact Gympie Regional Council on 54810 872 or 5481 0899.
