Hailey and Brad claim top gong

HAILEY Scovell and Brad Morgan proved consistency pays off at the annual Tony Stephens Refrigeration presentation night on Saturday.

Both players received the TSR Medal, which is awarded through a Brownlow Medal-style points system.

Men's Heat captain Dom Stephens said he was expecting Morgan to receive the medal after a very consistent season with the Heat.

"Brad was our goalkeeper for the Heat and he really saved us in some of the games," he said.

"I'm sure if we didn't have him the scores could have been very one sided."

The medal night, which hosted plenty of fun games and activities, was held at the Gympie Hockey Club where senior members celebrated the end of their season.

Women's Heat coach Ben Fitzpatrick said he had no clue who was in contention of receiving the TSR medal for women but knew Scovell was in the running.

"Hailey is a well-liked player and always playing consistent," he said. "She definitely deserved it."
