THE Gympie Turf Club is set to rock to Kevin Borich after this Saturday’s race meeting.

Gympie Turf Club president Spencer Slater said the ’70s rocker would hit the race track stage after the finish of the day’s five-race card and the concert would be free to everyone attending the races.

Slater said the gates to the Zinc 96.1 Rock and Racing Legends Race Day would open at midday and Borich would perform at the race course from 5pm.

“We have excellent nominations of 66 horses for the five races,” Slater said.

Fashions of the Field will be another drawcard to the event, with all finalists going into a November draw for $3000.

Slater said Zinc96.1 was sponsoring a special couples section for Fashions of the Field on Saturday, with the winning couple receiving a holiday at Hervey Bay’s Mantra resort.

He advised any race-goer after a different racing experience to buy a $50 ticket for a function on the Legends Deck, which overlooks the race track.

“The $50 gets you admission to the race track and free food and drinks for the race day,” Slater said.

“Also, anyone buying a ticket for the Legends Deck will go into a separate draw to win a holiday at Mantra Resort Hervey Bay.”
