Gympie Show shines despite gloomy weather

IMPROVING weather is part of the good news about today's Gympie Show.

Other drawcards will include international standard ring events, expected to exceed those at the Brisbane Exhibition.

A huge display at Machinery Alley, big new sideshow attractions and that once-a-year show atmosphere are also among the drawcards.

Cool and damp weather did not stop early show-goers yesterday, but improving conditions for today's public holiday have prompted high hopes of a massive turnout.

The Bureau of Meteorology yesterday predicted improving conditions overnight.

And Gympie should wake to a fine sunny day, according to the forecast.

Plenty of Vitamin D, according to the bureau, so much so that a UV alert is from 9.20am to 2.10pm, with the UV index expected to hit six.

A minimum temperature of eight degrees is expected to rise to a comfortable 24, with UV rated at five for most of the day.

The big events and attractions are scheduled to continue well into the evening.

Tomorrow is also forecast to be fine and mostly sunny, with the temperature 7-23 degrees.
