Gympie riders excel at Express

THE Gympie club hosted round one of the Husaberg Pony Express on Sunday July 18.

It was held at Dray’s property at Woolooga. There were 182 riders over all the classes.

The Gympie club had seven seniors and 17 juniors racing.

A pony express is where teams of two riders battle it out for times around a set course.

One rider goes out on the circuit and he comes in and touches his front wheel to the back wheel of his partner, sending him out on the course.

Seniors race for five hours and the juniors for three.

One stand-out class was the Juniors under 85s 9 - 11 years.

We managed to hold the first five positions through to the end.
