Regional Realty takes it out

JOHN and Margaret Cochrane's faces said it all on Saturday night.

The principals of Gympie Regional Realty got the shock of their lives when they were named winners of the Gympie Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year award.

They attended Saturday night's business awards function at the Phoenix Hotel, thinking they would spend the night chatting, networking and politely congratulating award winners over one or two glasses of wine with dinner.

“We knew we were among the finalists but when they announced the winner as Gympie Regional Reality, we were just in shock”, I'm still over-the-moon John Cochrane said yesterday.

“We thought we'd get along, have something to eat and clap the winners.

“When they invited us, I thought we'd better (go) – you've got to be a bit of a sport.

“We were drinking wine and carrying on and then suddenly they said ‘Gympie Regional Realty'.

“Mate, I was just blown away. We were just over the moon. I was that excited,” he said.
