Gympie region Anzac Day commemorations

ANZAC Day commemorations (excluding dawn services) being held around the Gympie region today:

GYMPIE

6.15am: Commemoration Service, Normanby Hill Remembrance Park, Southside.
6.15am: Breakfast for ex-service, serving personnel, war widow, Legacy Laurel members, nurses, carers and invited guests, Gympie RSL.
7am: Mass, St Patrick's Catholic Church.
8am: Mass, St Peter's Anglican Church.
10am: Assemble for march in Smithfield St.
10.30am: Anzac Day March, Mary St.
11am: Citizens meeting, Memorial Park rotunda.
12.30pm: Anzac Day luncheon, Civic Centre for veterans, ex-service personnel, serving personnel, war widows, Legacy Laurel members, nurses, carers and invited guests.

WIDGEE

7am: Breakfast at Widgee Memorial Hall
8.30am: March and main service. MC Chris Lhotke, field marshal John Weber. Inquiries 5484 0102.

TIN CAN BAY

8.30am: Assemble outside Raine & Horne for annual march.
8.40am: March steps off to the cenotaph where a service and wreath laying ceremony will be held. All welcome.
MIVA
11am: Anzac Day service, CWA Rest Rooms, Miva. Light lunch to follow. Visitors welcome.

RAINBOW BEACH

9.45am: Assemble at Rainow Beach swimming pool for Anzac Day march
10am: March to Cenotaph.
11am: Rainbow Beach Surf Club opening its doors for members and guests (no charge). Ex-service personnel from other branches $10 per head.
11.30am: Legacy fundraiser Rainbow Beach Sports, Recreation and Memoiral Club.
1pm: Surf Club open to all.

WOLVI
 
7pm: Anzac Day Service, Wolvi Primary School and St Patrick's College students participating in the service. After the service Anzac biscuits, tea/coffee and refreshments are available. Wolvi Hall, cnr Kin Kin and Tagigan Rds.

GOOMERI

10am: Assemble for Anzac Day march at Laurie Dickenson Park.
10.15: March to Memorial Hall, followed by citizens' service featuring guest speaker and children from Goomeri State School. Cup of tea and fellowship to follow.

MARY VALLEY

11.30am: Assemble for 12midday march followed by day service and luncheon for ex-servicemen and veterans in the Imbil Memorial Hall.

KILKIVAN

10am: Assemble at RSL Park for Anzac Day march.
10.30am: March to Kilkivan Hall, followed by citizens' service and refreshments.
