Gympie celebrating our OWN patriots

GYMPIE'S Older Women's Network members flew the flag for their nation at their first meeting for 2013 which had an Australia Day theme.

Dress code for the day was everything Aussie.

The friendship morning was a chance to catch up and chat about the Christmas break.

At the next meeting Joan Ellis will talk about the shops which, in the early days, lined the streets of Mellor and Mary.

Joan's parents owned Gillalands Garage where Madills now operate.

Penny Taylor will give a talk about her achievements in the Masters Games.

The next meeting will start at 9.15am on January 31 in the Anglican Hall in Lady Mary Tce.

Inquiries June 5482 7670.
