Gympie Hospital cancels services

GYMPIE Hospital has advised that because of local flooding and electricity and telephone issues, all scheduled appointments for today and tomorrow in the following clinics have been cancelled.

Patients with scheduled appointments on these days at chemotherapy, specialist outpatients, theatre, mental health, child and youth mental health, community health, child and family health, have been advised not to attend.

Hospital staff have been able to contact most patients, but not all who had scheduled appointments on these days.

Gympie Hospital will contact all patients affected by these unavoidable cancellations during the coming week with a view to rescheduling.

There were about 2000 powerlines down across South East Queensland yesterday.

Crews were focusing on the Sunshine Coast and North Brisbane areas and Gympie residents should expect 24/48 hours without power due to access issues cause by fallen powerlines and floodwater.
