OPINION: Gympie has a Heart of Gold
THIS morning I'm hopefully waking up after another great start to the Heart of Gold Film Festival.
I caught a quick glimpse of the Civic Centre while talking to judges about the event yesterday afternoon.
It looked spectacular, decked out in a quirky retro style that complemented the nature of our one of a kind film festival.
I know I rabbit on a lot about the great events the Gympie region has at this time of year but The Heart of Gold is one of the special things that makes our community unique.
The festival showcases all that is good about the arts.
There are no movies promoting killing and mayhem, the stories told on the screen are there to lift the spirit and move people.
And it does that every year.
It's not very often I tear up, but the Heart of Gold opening night is the one time I always sneak in the odd tissue.
If you haven't been to a session at the Heart of Gold I suggest you do.
You will go again and again.
