Gympie bub born to model

GYMPIE mum Nicole Smoothey said the chance to see her child’s face in a national brand campaign was the clincher for her to enter son Lachlan into a baby modelling competition.

And that chance may just pay off.

“I thought it would be great to see his face on Tommee Tippee products when out shopping,” she said.

Lachlan has caught the judges’ eye in the Australian-wide Practical Parenting Magazine annual Baby Model Search, and has been named a competition hopeful after the first round of judging.

He is now in the running to win a $5000 cash prize and a 12-month modelling contract.

Mrs Smoothey said it was the first time she had entered 10-month-old Lachlan in a model search competition.

“I normally wouldn’t enter, but I thought he was cute,” she said. Admitting that all mums were a little biased, she said she thought Lachlan would go well in the competition.

“His dad Scott works in Western Australia and probably doesn’t know about the competition. I think he’s cute and I hope the judges do too.”

A first time mum, Mrs Smoothey said a friend put her onto Practical Parenting Magazine for tips and she is now waiting to see how Lachlan does in the competition.

Practical Parenting and Tommee Tippee are on the hunt to find the nation’s cutest baby, toddler and mum, with the winner of each category securing a cash prize, a 12-month modelling contract with Brats Models and the opportunity to be the face of renowned brand, Tommee Tippee.

Practical Parenting editor Mara Lee said the model search offered a great way for mums to earn an attractive cash prize and a once in a lifetime opportunity to launch a baby or toddler’s modelling career.

“Practical Parenting and Tommee Tippee share a passionate commitment to supporting the needs of Australian parents, newborns, toddlers and pre-schoolers – and we are very proud to partner in the country’s only model search that enables little cuties to earn a lovely big cash payment and kickstart a lucrative career,” she said.

If you think your bub’s cheeky grin could be the key to some serious cash, Practical Parenting and Tommee Tippee invite you to enter the search.

Entries close on September 15 and the winner for each category will be officially announced on November 17.
