Nomination for awards now open

AS residents reflect on the recent Gold Rush festivities, Mayor Ron Dyne has asked that we look for gold within our community.

“Nominations for our Australia Day awards are now open and I urge everyone to look within their networks, activities and local areas to consider nominating people for appropriate awards,” he said.

Categories include the Citizen Award, Young Citizen Award (14-year to 25-years), Community Event of the Year, three sports awards and cultural awards. Nominations close on December 13 and the mayor said residents could also nominate service clubs.

Forms are available from all council offices, libraries and galleries, on the website www.gympie.qld.gov.au or by calling Donelle Shaw on 5481 0668.
