Gympie artists to shine in Maryborough exhibition

EMERGING artists from the Gympie Region are set to showcase their work in an exhibition in Maryborough next month.

The exhibition, named Daydreaming, will start on November 4 at the Gatakers Artspace in Kent St, Maryborough.

Daydreaming will officially be opened on Friday November 6 at 6pm by established artist, Kelli McGregor.

The six featured artists in the exhibition all studied under the tutelage of Ms McGregor and their artworks will be delivered in a variety of mediums.

On show will be works from Liz Alcorn, Niki Firmstone, Bette Warhurst, Lynne Parr, Sherrie Rowan and Jeanette Nitzsche.

"Works range from delicate watercolours and glazes to strong textures and vibrant colours. The daydreams include travels, places of contemplation, memories and future dreams," a spokesperson for the gallery said.

Daydreaming will run from November 4 - 30.
