Gympie artists find a new audience

EMERGING artists from the Gympie region will showcase their work in a Maryborough exhibition next month.

The exhibition - Daydreaming - starts on November 4 at the Gatakers Artspace in Kent St.

Daydreaming will officially be opened on Friday, November 6 at 6pm by established artist Kelli McGregor.

The six featured artists in the exhibition all studied under the tutelage of Ms McGregor and their artworks reflect a variety of mediums.

On show will be works from Liz Alcorn, Niki Firmstone, Bette Warhurst, Lynne Parr, Sherrie Rowan and Jeanette Nitzsche.

"Works range from delicate watercolours and glazes to strong textures and vibrant colours," a gallery spokesperson said.

"The daydreams include travels, places of contemplation, memories and future dreams."

Daydreaming runs from November 4 - 30.
