SHOCKING footage has emerged from Bulgaria showing a political leader facing an armed attack as he spoke at a televised conference.

The leader of Movement for Rights and Freedoms, Ahmed Dogan, is shown speaking when a man emerges from the audience and holds a gas pistol to Mr Dogan's head.

Mr Dogan quickly reacts to disarm the attacker.

Security guards then overpowered the man.

Gas pistols are considered non-lethal weapons used in self defence, but at close range can cause life-threatening injuries.
