Editorial: Great job organising the classic

Editorial: THE Rainbow Beach Family Fishing Classic is, as normal, reeling in crowds to Rainbow Beach.

These school holidays are usually one of the quietest for the coastal tourist strip but the classic is helping boost numbers.

Yesterday the weather could not have been more perfect for fishing at Rainbow.

The sun was out, it was warm and there was very little swell on the ocean.

The Mudlo Rocks are even easy to navigate at low tide.

It was magic.

But no matter how perfect the conditions are the event would not attract the numbers unless it was well organised.

The Rainbow Beach Sport and Recreation Club led by Rick Modin have done and amazing job organising and growing the event.

Everyone I spoke to yesterday said how well organised the competition was.

Its one of the reason they keep coming back.
