Grateful road user

GYMPIE resident David Williams has thanked Gympie Regional Council for providing line markings separating north and south bound lanes on the crests of Tagigan Road.

In September last year, Tagigan Road was the scene of a fatal car crash that claimed the life of Brian McGrath after he collided with another car on a crest.

Mr Williams wrote to the council referring to the crash and his letter was tabled at a meeting this week.

“I write to thank Gympie Regional Council and you (Mayor Ron Dyne) personally, for having taken the initiative to act to reduce the likelihood of a repetition of this sad event,” he wrote.
