Grant draws on solid form to win

PLAYING good snooker all year, new Gympie RSL Snooker Club champion Peter Grant has a lot to smile about.

Grant recently beat previous A grade champion John Baker in the club’s championships on July 29.

Baker held the title for two years before succumbing to Grant’s prowess in this year’s final 4 – 3.

In the B grade Gary Chard beat Andrew Kruger 3 – 0.

In the C grade Pat Buxton beat Rob Cleverley 3 – 0.

Club captain Vince Brennan said Grant had been playing well all year and thoroughly deserved the win.

“It was a good game,” he said.

After a great year of snooker the club is gearing up for the All in Bash and the Veterans Championships next week.

But, Mr Brennan said, the club was always looking for new players. A bit of new blood would ensure the survival of the club. If you are interested, play gets underway Tuesday nights from 6pm.

Call Vince Brennan on 5482 2636 to get involved.
