The gorgeous 2012 Ferrari FF found in Beverly Hills

TODAY we will be looking at this gorgeous 2012 Ferrari FF, which was spotted in the quiet backstreets of Beverly Hills.

This Italian beauty is equipped with a front mounted 6.3-litre, 48 valve 12 cylinder engine which is able to produce a staggering 485 kW (651 hp) @ 8,000 rpm and 683 Nm of torque (504 lb-ft of torque) at 6000 rpm. This means it has the same power as the 2003 Ferrari Enzo, but with 26 more Nm of torque.

Connected to the engine is a 7-speed, dual-clutch automated manual transmission, which can be controlled by shifting paddles behind the wheel, which then sends all the power for the first time ever in Ferrari history, to all-four wheels!

In basic terms, a dual-clutch gearbox selects the next highest and lowest gear before you shift, which cuts the shifting time dramatically. The transmission in this Ferrari is able to shift within 60 milliseconds.

Even with this new AWD system and the bulky hatchback-style body, this Ferrari has a kerb weight of just 1,880 kilograms.

This allows this FF to launch from 0-100 kilometres per hour in just 3.7 seconds, and it will continue to accelerate until it reaches its top speed of 335 kilometres per hour (208 miles per hour)!

The 2012 Ferrari FF was first launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March of 2011 to replace the outdated Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. Carrying on the tradition from this car, Ferrari had to make the FF a four-seater, and there is actually a surprising amount of legroom in the back.

Also thanks to the new body style, the FF has 450-litres of boot space with the rear seats in their normal position, which is only 50 less than the BMW 7-Series sedan. But with the seats folded down, it has 800 litres of luggage space, 300 more than the BMW!

As I was saying before, the FF features an all-wheel drive system, a first for Ferrari. Although this isn't like most AWD systems, since the front wheels have their own separate gearbox which controls the power for the front wheels, and the ordinary 'box controls the rear wheels.

The engine sends 80% of the power to the rear wheels and only 20% to the front. Although, once you go into 5th gear the gearbox that controls the front wheels automatically shuts down, and all of the power goes to the rear.

You can currently purchase a brand-new Ferrari FF for an RRP of $625,000 AUD plus on-road costs.
