Goodchild Shield gets underway

CRICKET’S Goodchild Shield competition gets underway tomorrow with Gympie taking on Bundaberg at Albert Park.

Spearheading Gympie’s attack will be captain Tim McIntosh.

A number of the players named in the Gympie line up will be backing up from playing for the Gympie Offroad Gold XI against Caboolture in a one day match today.

The Gympie team is an exciting blend of experience and youth.

Bundaberg last year saw tenacious competitors on the cricket pitch, and Gympie Cricket Association president Bob Blackburn tipped a thrilling battle this year.

The game starts at 9.30am and the starting list for both teams is as follows:

Gympie: Tim McIntosh, Steven Brady, Brendan Mahaffey, Travis Chandler, Danny Shepperson, Chris Darrach, Tom White, Andy Batton, Pat Roser, Brandon Sauer, Cameron Quinn and Ben Smith

Bundaberg: Travis Henke, Brendan Prossliner, Philip Proctor, Steven Nichols, Oliver Hardaker, Jarrod Laycock, Sean Stuchbery, Nathan Sarnadsky, Chris Duff, Trent Prossliner and Rhys Grills.
