Good times roll with ShredX

SKATING: Some 40 contestants lined up for Gympie's very first ShredX street jam at Nelson Reserve skate park, and there were plenty more on the slopes enjoying the fun.

Skater fans teamed up with pro scooter team Flavor for the event, run by the Nyburg family at M and S Raceways and supported by council.

Sylvia Nyburg said the day was a hit, with many more people turning out than expected.

She said she hopes for many more events to come.

"We're trying to get as many people out to the skate park as possible," she said.

Local talents Tory Adams and Dylan Patience, sponsored by M and S Raceways, lead the pack in the trickster event.
