Good sports rule at South

FITNESS and participation were celebrated last week at Gympie South State School, when the whole school took part in Sports Week.

Starting with the cross country on Monday morning and culminating with a whole school sports' day on Friday, every child was given the opportunity to shine for their sports' house - Price (red), Stumm (blue), Dean (green) or Kidd (yellow).

Overall, Kidd won with 2234 points, followed by Dean on 2184, Price on 2133 and Kidd on 1966.

The following students won age champion for their respective age groups:

  •  6 Yrs and Under - Blake Hilton and Tiara Baker.
  •  7 Yrs - Jared Reinke and Madajah Hogan.
  •  8 Yrs - Dylan Vandermatt and Chloe Rookyard.
  •  9 Yrs - Aiden Hinds and Sharnee Leech and Paige Smith.
  •  10 Yrs - Troy Calson and Shiarn Benham.
  •  11 Yrs - Cameron Hanson and Chantelle Chippindall.
  •  12 Yrs - Leeham Hatchman and Georgia Garrels.
  •  13 Yrs - Ben Matthews and Chanelle Hehir.
