TROY Ashton was the destroyer for the Gympie Off-road Gold XI on Saturday taking five wickets against Tewantin-Noosa.
The Gympie quick sparked a Tewantin-Noosa batting collapse on a fiery Albert Park No.1 wicket.
Tewantin-Noosa were all out for 49 with only A Kratzman (21) troubling the scorers.
There was a total of six ducks in the Tewantin-Noosa innings.
When Gympie's openers, Steve Brady and Danny Shepperson, strolled to the crease they soon found out why batting was so hard.
Brady was out lbw for one and Shepperson lbw for three.
Gympie's top five failed.
Only Andy Batten (30) could hold his head high.
At 9-95 the Gold looked as if they would only have about a 50-run lead, but a great last-wicket partnership between Brad Millard (33 not out) and Travis Chandler (37) improved the Gold's innings.
All up their partnership was 72 and could be the match-winner when the game resumes next week.
