Gliding club enjoys new heights
GYMPIE Gliding Club continues to soar to new heights after ushering in a number of changes to its committee.
Alex Nitzsche has been appointed new president while the role of vice president has been eagerly taken up by Trevor Burke.
Meanwhile, Steve Klinge has undertaken the role of learning the management of the club's finances while Mick Aitken is receiving a taste of the secretary's role before making a decision on taking it on full time.
“Thanks to all and I offer them our best wishes for the next year,” Nitzsche said.
The club has been hitting the skies in recent weeks and Ray Parker and Dave Rees have showcased their skills.
“Honours go to Ray Parker and Dave Rees and to Mick Aitken,” Nitzsche said.
Two visitors dropped in on the club out of curiosity and were taken for a thrilling flight, proving the entire exercise worthwhile after the effort of organising equipment.
