Girl thrown from horse

A GIRL, 16, is in a stable condition at Nambour Hospital after falling from her horse this morning.

An AGL Action Rescue spokesman said the girl was riding in a paddock on the family property with her sister, 20, about 9.30am when she was thrown from the horse.

The girl was wearing a helmet at the time, but she was knocked unconscious.

A Gympie ambulance crew arrived at the property on Gympie-Woolooga Rd a few minutes before the AGL rescue helicopter arrived.

The crew, flight doctor and paramedic checked her over together before the injured girl was flown to Nambour for further investigations to rule out neck and spinal injures and observation after it appeared she suffered from a concussion.
