Gibson has important message

OFFICIALLY, Mental Health Week finished on Sunday, but the Gympie region has continued to promote the mental health message this week.

Highlighting the cause on Monday was Australia's biggest selfie and yesterday our State Member David Gibson spoke of his mental health issues in Parliament.

Mr Gibson had a nervous breakdown after months of extreme pressure when his past was revealed to the public by former supporter and Rainbow Beach businessman Scott Elms.

The drama killed Mr Gibson's political career and sent him reeling emotionally.

Yesterday's message to Parliament should give anyone suffering depression hope.

Even when everything is at its worst there will be a time when things will improve and get better.

Well done, Mr Gibson.
