Get out all the woolies Big freeze is coming, say Storm Chasers
A "SIGNIFICANT to severe winter outbreak" is forecast to hit Gympie region within days, bringing extreme and possibly record cold conditions.
"People who say it's hype, I will turn around next week and say I told you so," radical new forecaster on the block Jeff Higgins, of Higgins Storm Chaser said yesterday.
Official forecasts are wrong, he said.
ALL the computer models are coming together, according to Mr Higgins, who yesterday said official forecasters, like the Bureau of Meteorology and Weatherzone are behind the times.
Mr Higgins has forecast a "super low" that will impact all of the eastern half of Australia, bringing record cold weather "this weekend into next week".
"You won't see some of this forecast on BOM because we have been forecasting ahead of them," he said.
"We are going to lock this in now as all forecast model data is coming into agreement!
"I'll keep it short because our forecast maps tell all, so check them out."
He predicted "snow and lots of it in New South Wales/ACT, snow also in Tasmania and Victoria, possibly in South Australia and south Queensland; strong cold winds across all south-east Australia (possibly damaging in southern states).
"I am confident with forecasts we have provided so far and we will continue to fine tune and make adjustments leading into the event," he said.
