Get a photo with the Broncos

The Brisbane Broncos and Darren Burns are offering Gympie rugby league fanatics the chance of a lifetime.

A chance to be in the official team photo for the 2012 Broncos alongside greats like Sam Thaiday, Justin Hodges and Corey Parker.

The NRL Club is auctioning a place in the team's official photo to help raise funds for the Gympie Junior Rugby League Development program headed up by Darren Burns.

Burns said this was the first time anything like this had been offered to fans by the Broncos.

He said the idea was floated at a meeting between him and other Bronco development officers with the Bronco hierarchy as a way of raising money.

"It is the first and could be the last time an experience like this could be offered by the Broncos," Burns said.

The highest bidder would get to meet him at the Broncos' Red Hill headquarters on Wednesday, February 15.

He said the highest bidder had to be available on the Wednesday because that's the only time the photos were taken. From there Burns would accompany the winner to the photo session and introduce them to the players.

"It is a great chance to get up close and personal with the Broncos," Burns said.

"Get a few signatures and some more photos," he said.

During the day the highest bidder will have their photo taken with the 2012 Broncos squad.

The one-off photo will be framed ready to take pride of place in their home, office or bar.

Burns said the photo experience would make a great present and if it was bought for a child the parent would get to go with them to meet the Broncos.

The Gympie Times will be conducting the auction via the newspaper.

Each day the highest bid will be put in the paper until bidding closes on Friday February 10 at noon.

To bid, you need to text the word "GYMPIE TIMES PHOTO BID" with the amount in dollars and your name and phone number to 0428 634 025.

An SMS bid without a name and number for verification will not be allowed.
