GERMAN backpackers holidaying in Rainbow Beach were doing double-takes this week as German celebrity and actor, Richy Muller-Czienskowski hit the coast.
Mr Muller-Czienskowski is the host of a popular travel program for N-TV titled, This is my Australia.
The program will showcase the unique natural attractions of Australia's Nature Coast, with the film crew travelling to locations on the Sunshine Coast, the Fraser Coast, the Cooloola region and Fraser Island.
Arriving in Rainbow Beach from Fraser Island, the crew enjoyed a lunch break in the national park before filming on Carlo sandblow.
Sunshine Coast Destination Limited Marketing Manager Laughlin Rigby was guiding the group.
Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service Community Engagement Ranger Grant Phelan accompanied the German crew in the national park to share information on the natural values of the area.
Mr Phelan remained with the group as they drove the beach to Double Island Point to explore the lighthouse and coastal environment before travelling south, filming at points of interest en route to Noosa.
N-TV is the leading national news channel in German-speaking Europe (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) with an audience of 500,000. The audience is largely affluent professionals with a strong interest in long-haul travel, aged 25 and up.
The N-TV "This is my" program is one of the last remaining TV travel shows on German television.
An initiative of Tourism and Events Queensland in conjunction with Sunshine Coast Destination and Fraser Coast Opportunities, the aim of the film crews' visit is to generate high-quality television coverage in Germany that will inspire viewers to visit and experience Australia's Nature Coast.
