Geebung's big tour

VICTORY College student Donald Geebung has been selected to join the 2010 Football Queensland Under 15 squad for a tour of the United Kingdom.

Geebung, a Year 9 student, will embark on the tour later this year, giving him a rare opportunity to develop his skills and gain an insight into professional football at an elite level.

The tour comes at a considerable cost but the sting has been soothed thanks to the generosity of Lance and Trena-Jane Rowlands of Wealth Directions Financial Strategists, who have kindly provided a bursary of $500.

Lance recently made the presentation at Victory College in front of a full school assembly.

An extremely grateful Geebung thanked Lance and Trena-Jane for their support, helping his dreams in the sport take one giant step closer to becoming a reality.

The 14-day tour includes a tour of the Manchester United stadium and museum, coaching clinics at professional clubs and sightseeing.

The tour will also give Geebung the opportunity to throw on his football boots and play in a series of games against some of the best young clubs in the world, including Manchester, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Victory College wished the young athlete all the best.
