Gallery: Hammers take on Nambour to start off the season

Rugby Union: The Gympie Hammers were unable to stop the Nambour Toads on Saturday, the Toads running away with a 25-19 victory.

Hammers coach Jason McPherson said there were a few things the boys needed to learn for this Saturday.

"It wasn't the best day with the whistle but the boys need to learn that if we hold the ball we will have more penalties go our way,” he said.

"We scored some very exciting tries but it wasn't the outcome I was expecting.”

Hammers take on Fraser Coast this Saturday at 3pm.
