GALLERY: Bowlers take limelight in Gold v Yandina cricket

IT WAS a bowler's pitch at Albert Park on Saturday when the Gympie Gold XI hosted Yandina.

Gold were the first at the crease and opener Steven Brady made 13, which was the highest score for the day.

The Gold struggled to form a solid partnership and were out for 78.

As Yandina came to the middle, Gympie's bowlers were preparing to rip through their order.

Yandina openers made a combined total of five but a solid middle order made 57 and finished on 127 at the end of the first innings.

Brycen Mitchell took four wickets, Dean Chandler took three (playing his first full match for the Gold), all rounder Andre Cave took two wickets and Jackson White one.

Gympie were comfortable at the crease in the second innings and finished 3/58 after 19 overs.

The match will continue on Saturday, November 24 at Albert Park at 10.30am.
