Funds help foster regional arts and culture

GYMPIE artists were yesterday encouraged to apply for funding through the Regional Arts Development Fund.

The program helps unearth and foster talent in the Gympie region by supporting initiatives like the Soundcheck Pilot Project.

Soundcheck is comprised of 10 monthly four-hour events that provide a platform for emerging and professional musicians, bands and performers.

A total of $50,000 in funding has been made available as part of the 2012-13 RADF program.

Phone 5481 0760 or email radf@gympie.qld.gov.au. Information is also available from www.arts.qld.gov.au.
